Autumn
Fire started as a completely different painting than what finally
appeared. That happens. The painting began as a summer scene but as Fall
approached, I became fascinated with the bright yellows of the poplar
trees I saw.
Poplars
are some of the first trees to turn in this area and their almost
perfect shape makes them appear unreal at times so that the viewer often
has to look twice to get the full impact.
In
this painting, there's a nip in the air - just a hint of Autumn. Picture
yourself sitting on a rock at the side of the stream with the water
making gentle splashing noises below you. From there, you can focus on
the blaze of colors in nature's palate.
